# 2024-08-09 ASP–ARDOT ALPR Siting Meeting
On the Wednesday before 2024-08-09, Lt. Dennis Overton met three ARDOT engineers — Chief Engineer Joseph Hawkins, Hussain Alfaraj, and Michael McHenry — at the ARDOT building in Little Rock about *"the installation of ALPR's at designated locations around Arkansas."* The engineers said they could not assist *"until they were told from their Directors office that they would be participating,"* and asked ASP to route the request through ARDOT's Director. Overton reported the meeting to Colonel Jason Aaron on 2024-08-09 (ALPR Meeting with ARDOT; Tier-1 corpus, `ALPR Meeting with ARDOT.msg`).

## Significance
The earliest dated moment in the internal-comms production and the corpus's first documentary anchor for ASP–ARDOT coordination on statewide camera siting. It locates the authorization for placing ASP ALPRs on state right-of-way at ARDOT's Director-level office, not the engineering staff — a control point for the whole fixed-network rollout.
