# 2026-03 Sherwood ALPR Policy Takes Effect Sherwood General Order 11.08.00 became effective March 24, 2026 (`11.08.00 Automatic License Plate Reader.pdf`, p. 1, “Effective: 03-24-26”). The completion correspondence separately describes that date as when the policy was implemented and the “final” ALPR system was installed. ## Significance The policy postdates the February 11 misread stop and cannot govern it retroactively. It nevertheless establishes prospective requirements for physical-plate verification, ACIC/NCIC confirmation, alert-outcome marking, logged system activity, and annual audits ([[Sherwood ALPR Policy 11.08.00]], pp. 3-4). “Final system installed” is not treated as proof that no Sherwood ALPR was operational earlier; the February 11 incident independently establishes earlier operational use.
