# Jamie Hammond
Van Buren chief of police in the 2020 WatchGuard procurement record. Hammond's September 22 memo made the departmental case for a full body-worn-camera program and replacement of unsupported L3 in-car systems.
## Role and affiliations
Hammond addressed the proposal to Mayor [[Joe Hurst]]. He compared the existing two-camera BWC posture with staffing needs, evaluated Axon and WatchGuard, and recommended WatchGuard.
## Appearances in the corpus
- [[Van Buren WatchGuard Ordinance Quote and Camera Proposal]] - proposed forty body-worn and fifteen in-car systems and identified increased FOIA requests as one disadvantage of a BWC program.
- [[2020-12 Van Buren Authorizes WatchGuard Camera Package]] - the City later authorized the quoted WatchGuard package.
## Notes
The record establishes Hammond's role in 2020; it does not establish his later tenure.
