# Sherwood Traffic Enforcement Policy General Order 10.02.00 governs routine traffic enforcement and stop safety. It directs officers to be "absolutely certain" their observation of a violation was accurate (p. 7, section IX.B), but contains no ALPR-specific alert-verification procedure and no clearly labeled high-risk or felony-stop procedure. ## Comparison to the incident and successor production This policy does not answer the request for an ALPR-specific verification policy governing the February 11 stop. PD-2026-520 later produced General Orders 10.09.00, 10.11.00, and 09.01.00, all in effect that day, plus ALPR Policy 11.08.00. The ALPR policy was not effective until March 24, 2026 ([[Sherwood ALPR Policy 11.08.00]], p. 1). The successor ALPR policy now requires physical-plate verification, ACIC/NCIC confirmation, and provides that an ALPR hit cannot be the sole basis for a traffic stop without verification ([[Sherwood ALPR Policy 11.08.00]], p. 3). Those controls cannot be applied retroactively to the February 11 conduct.
